Tips
We
hope you will join us at Bali Beach Villas at Tejakula or at one of
our other Cilik's Beach Garden resort properties here in North Bali.
Whether you stay with us or elsewhere on this beautiful
tropical island, here are a few travel tips you may find useful in
planning your trip:
-
Visas: Upon your arrival at Ngurah Rai Int'l. Airport in the
provincial capitol of Denpasar, a 30-day visitor's visa is
issued; the current charge for the visa is $25US. Don't forget
to bring your valid Passport.
-
Currency: You may wish to bring a modest amount of cash with you
to Bali. US dollars, Euros and other forms of major world
currency are welcomed on the island; we recommend bill
denominations of $50US or less for ease of transacting business.
Also, as a major world-travel destination, Bali has numerous
banks and ATMs throughout most of the island where you can
obtain cash in Indonesian Rupiahs at a fairly reasonable exchange
rate; and, most do not charge a separate transaction fee for the
service. To find the current conversion rate from your currency
into Indonesian Rupiahs, click on one of these links:

-
Medical Issues: Prior to any international travel, it is prudent
to consult with your own physician, or your local public health
agency; they can advise you on the need for any pre-departure
shots, illness preventatives and medications you may want to
carry with you, or other medical issues as may be appropriate.
Once in Bali, should you need it, medical care is available at
the clinic in Tejakula, or at the major hospitals in Singaraja
(about 20 miles west of Tejakula) and in Denpasar, in the south,
where English-speaking physicians are available.

-
Travel Insurance: Prior to departure, you may want to consider a
comprehensive international travel insurance policy; they are
widely available to cover such risks as medical emergencies,
trip interruption, etc. Consult with your travel agent when
booking your airline reservations.
-
The Eternal Question - What to Pack?: Obviously, you'll want
casual attire and swim- or beachwear to match the warm tropical
climate here, but don't forget a light jacket &/or rainwear or
an umbrella, not just for Bali, but for your international
travel. When in more formal public situations (e.g., in banks,
public offices, museums, etc.), and when visiting temples or
observing traditional Balinese ceremonies or religious rites,
both men and women should dress modestly; that is, wear longer
pants, shorts or other garments that at least cover the knee and
shoulders, as well as the feet. Bring comfortable footwear, and
a hat and sunscreen to protect you from the tropical sun. Keep
in mind that the Balinese produce some of the world's finest
textiles, like batik, ikat and songket, so you may want to leave
room in your luggage for the lovely garments you select while
you're here, such as shirts, dresses and sarongs.
